Another Photo Of Deryk Schlessinger
Taken in December of 2006, and appearing in the Montecito Journal
Joining Andy Granatelli at the Biltmore on Sunday December 17 were Dr. Laura Schlessinger and her son Deryk, scheduled to depart for Afghanistan early in January
Compare it to this photo, allegedly from his MySpace page, which was described by one Army officer as “repulsive.” The page has disappeared from the net.
A few days ago, Dr. Laura suspended writing her newspaper column for the Santa Barbara (California) News-Press. Apparently, she’s run out of advice on family values.

May 27, 2007, 12:30 pm1. Never saw the myspace page, so I can’t comment on that, other than is it at all possible that someone else put it together to embarrass the Bishop/Schlessinger family?
2. When the nude photo thing came up several years ago, I recall she kept quiet about the whole thing, until a court decision said it was ok for the photographer (an old boyfriend–be carefull, girls, who you pose for!) to post them. She then made a public statement on her show.
3. No parent is responsible for what their adult children do.

We saw the website and several of the 14 Friend websites, mostly Army. Pics from Deryk and friends. I’m not Photoshop expert. Those who know more and saw sites, say NO WAY. I don’t believe it was Photoshopped. LaPlante could give more verification or documentation on that.
More important will be for others who know Deryk’s past to document and any of his old disturbed writings to come out.
The Army has overlooked homicidal types before. The Army has covered up and lied for public relations. How do these personality disorders fall through the cracks? Deryk’s case will take time. Whatever your opinions there are grave concerns for both soldiers and civilians. Many psychotic or disturbed trained killers will leave the war zone. I think we all want to know it’s safe where we live.
Some people who know Deryk do not feel that safety. Do you believe the Bishop/Schlessinger houses have no guns? Some think it’s an arsenal. We need facts. How would you feel if you were their neighbor?

This photo is from the alleged website, however, it is not directly from the website, it’s posted elsewhere. I understand there are others. What does LaPlante have documented? Cached or captured, I don’t know about. The photo of Deryk next to Chris Santory are from their two different websites and placed together. Photoshopped? The originals not photoshopped. Does this make it more clear?
Others who saw this or have the photos can also state what they saw or have. If the Pentagon has cleansed all evidence, how could anyone have the website? We need answers about what the Pentagon is up to. ASAP. Since when does the Pentagon cleanse evidence against “terrorist” or “gay activist”? What about the safety and well being of the former classmate or anyone else who feels terrorized? This isn’t just about name recognition.

I wouldn’t be concerned if I lived next door to either one. You really don’t know what any of your neighbors have with the Constitutional right to “bear arms”.

I don’t have a problem with guns that are legal and kept from children and the disturbed. It’s not next door, it’s a spacious area. There have been different types of wealthy gun situations who store enough arsensal for an army in this area. In time they’ve that come to face the law, it happens. I’m not saying in this situation. I don’t know or care about most neighbors and guns either. Some neighbors have legit concerns. It’s for local authorities to take up. No one said anyones guns weren’t legal. It’s more about a wrong person having access to any gun. I’m told Schlessinger has talked openly about their legal gun training with young Deryk and that was fine.
Forget celebrities. Or say it was Rosie’s kid and your neighborhood. I guess I didn’t make my point clear. If your neighbor had a suspect kid, you might understand. Especially when this person will be kept secret and no official photos. Granted he could be on leave in Chicago or any where. Who knows?
Don’t read things into this. I support the Constitutional right to “bear arms”. This is more about public safety than celebrity.

What the heck goes on over there with these pics of Derek with a gun in his mouth, child molestation and rape etc. to the Abu Graib photos?? And why do alot of men who serve in war always come back so coarsened. Its like they don’t know how to show emotion or hugs there kids anymore.

Having been a member of the “Army family” in a few capacities over the last 15 years, please know that the vast majority of soldiers who come back are not going to kill you. Yes, of course there are going to be a few but there are crazy murderers in the civilian general public as well. You all really have no idea what these soldiers do and see so please try not to judge them when they come back and need some psychological help or don’t act exactly like they did before they left immediately upon return. If it were you in their positions, you’d need an adjustment period it too, at the very least.

I know Deryk personally and for several years and he is niether a disturbed, psychotic, nor demonic human being. He is but a kind, sensitive, and loving person, so will you all just find somthing else to talk about rather than make assumptions based on a person you do not even know.

Its not surprising Deryk is messed up because Laura is a total hypocrite. I still remember when she had him do a commercial for her friends’ program, “Hooked on Phonics” in which Deryk was required to lie about being a poor student who was changed by the program (he was 10 or 11 at the time and an “A” student in the gifted program).
This is the same woman who badgers callers about “honesty” and “integrity”? She’s a complete hypocrite and phony.
