Rugh Limbaugh’s Phony Soldiers

Last week, radio entertainer Rush Limbaugh called military personnel who favor a U.S. withdrawal from Iraq “phony soldiers.”

Today, Granny would like to direct you to the blog of one of the those ‘Phony Soldiers.” In the “Army of Dude,” a soldier from Frisco, Texas, reports on “Truth, Justice and the American Way of War.” The blog is, in a word, stunning. Please take the time TODAY to read about incidents in the life of America’s phony soldiers on the front lines of the civil war in Iraq.

This is Chevy in Baghdad. Brian Chevalier was going to reenlist but decided against it before he was killed on March 14 during our first mission in Baqubah. His phony life was celebrated in a phony memorial where everyone who knew him cried phony tears. A phony American flag draped over his phony coffin when his body came home. It was presented to his phony mother and phony daughter.

Limbaugh is not fit to wipe the boots of these phonies.

And welcome home, Dude.

Dear Granny, My heart was simply torn reading this blog about the “phony” hero. My son-in-law will be completing his second tour in Iraq next month, this time for 15 months. My daughter and granddaughter (18 months old) who I hope will know who her daddy is when he gets back, began his military career in ROTC, and was proud to serve our country. I can personally attest to the pain, disruption, and price these young families pay, even when they are fortunate enough to return home alive and in one piece. My son-in-law will be deployed again, just about the time we estimate his wife and daughter have time to settle into a somewhat “normal” life. I wish Rush Limbaugh had his own big fat butt over there and on the front line. And I wish that our government cared enough about our soldiers to try to organize things in a way that doesn’t destroy these soldier’s marriages and lives when and if they are able to come home. Please – You keep up Granny. Beth
